Why do the new light bulbs (CFL’s) never last as long as they are supposed to?
I have replaced my front porch light and back porch light at least 3 times each in the past 12 months. These expensive bulbs are supposed to last 8 to 15 times longer than the incandescent version I paid less than a buck apiece for.
Just where is that missing sock?
When I get up in the morning I either wear two matching socks, or no socks. I never wear just one sock, or three socks. It’s always 2 or Zero.
I do my own laundry. No one else is messing with me and my sock collection.
When did buying a new car become an investment?
This has bugged me for awhile. But after seeing another TV commercial using that investment word, I decided to share it with you too.
Several years ago they stopped using sticker price to sell cars. They switched to monthly payments. My wife and I own our cars with no payments. The investment we make is in keeping them in shape and running.

Having no car payments if one of the greatest feelings of freedom available. It is sad so many people fail to understand that and get rid of a car too soon. Some occasional unplanned repair bills are far preferable to the all too predictable monthly payments.
Rick, when I wrote this about a month ago, I had no idea that I would be replacing my car which I’d been driving for the past 6+ years a few short weeks later. The decision of what to buy was easy. I went to a dealer that I’ve trusted for the past 10 years and only paid what I could afford to pay with cash on hand. That is real peace of mind.
