Ever since Kathy and I met a dozen years ago, we have planned date nights.

Fridays most weeks have been our usual date nights with occasional exceptions.

Another tradition that falls into the classification of Escaping, Relaxing & Connecting is the occasional overnighter.

Rarely have we taken a full weeks vacation, often it is one, two or up to 4 nights away from home. Bed & Breakfasts have become our usual hang out for the adventure and the unique experiences that lend to our version of a get-away.

The purpose is not to cram a bunch of activities in to a short time frame. Instead we check out our options and decide what to do, often on the spur of the moment.

Rarely have we stayed at the same place more than once.

A couple of exceptions to that rule include the Stone Soup Inn in Indianapolis where we have been twice; the Bayside Inn which we have also stayed at twice and is on our list of “returnables”; and now a place in Chesterton Indiana called At Home In The Woods.

Monday night this week when I arrived home, we decided to make a return visit to At Home In The Woods this week, and we did just that Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Afterwards we connected with family on Wednesday afternoon and friends Wednesday night.

Three years ago the Innkeepers of At Home In the Woods created a YouTube promotional video:

What do you do the Escape, Relax, and Connect with your significant other?
