I’m gonna let you in on a little secret of mine.

I’m spending more time in the car now that I’m back in the radio advertising business.

And while I spend a lot of time listening to the radio, I also started a habit I used to do a lifetime ago when I worked in radio advertising in Detroit.

I am listening to Audio Books.

I picked one up last week from the library by one of my favorite authors, Harvey Mackay and spend 30 minutes a day listening to Harvey’s wisdom.

When I was in Detroit I used to do this all the time with books on tape.

Cassette, not 8-track.  I’m not that old.

Harvey is on CD.

But the new radio in the new ScLoHo-mobile also has a USB port.  I can transfer some of the mp3 recordings from my laptop to a flash drive and listen to them too.

This really isn’t a trick, but it is a method that I used to do a couple decades ago to take advantage of my time, filling my head with knowledge, not just the latest Adele song!
