How is your work environment, people wise?

Tuesday I was with about 20 coworkers from WOWO and other Federated Media radio stations.  We were going through a class/workshop that everyone in our company goes through on the subject of BUILDING RELATIONSHIP VERSATILITY.

It was a different twist on the four quadrant personality type of assessments that I have done several times over the past few decades.

There was one thing in particular that became apparent as we were going over the material.  Of all the places I have worked recently, where I am now is one of the very best.   I’ve mentioned people like Cliff, Kelley, Sharon, and Ben in the past.  These are the four folks I rely on most as support people in my work at WOWO and Federated Media.

So I sent them a note of genuine thanks and included copies to their bosses.  Yesterday one of them came up to me and thanked me for the simple note that I had sent. She forwarded it to her parents and they were so proud of her.

My message for you today is to tell the people that make a positive impact in your life that you appreciate them.  Everyone has negative stuff going on in their life. Hopefully none of it is because of you.  If it is, then do your part and take care of fixing it.

But do not neglect to thank others with a note, a text, an email or some other message.  In this world we live in, we all need to see, hear and read those positive words.
