Sometime after we learn to talk, we learn to question.

Why?

No, I’m not asking why,

I’m telling you that the question we all ask is:

Why?

As parents we’ve been driven to near-tears by the persistent toddler who wants an answer to: Why?

Yet I’ve learned that the more I ask that question, the wiser I become.

And people think you are pretty smart too when you ask: Why?

Unless that is all you say, so here’s how to ask the same question in statement form:

Tell me more.

If we would stop trying to impress others with how much we know, and turn it around with:

Why?

and

Tell me more…

Our worlds will open up.

Try it for a few weeks.
