Last week I was meeting with Todd Ramsey and his business partners about a new venture that he is involved with.  “You can’t win if you don’t play”, is on Todd’s Twitter profile page and it’s a motto he believes in.

It’s a polite way of saying stuff that I tell people all the time when I’m working with them on their advertising and marketing, especially radio advertising.

You must make a big enough investment to make an impact, or your results will be insignificant.

I will do what ever I can to help you with my 20+ years of experience and expertise.

Not to sound arrogant, but if you don’t take my advice, you are decreasing your chances for success.

So what are the biggest mistakes I see people make?

  • Not having a game plan.  We call it a Marketing Strategy Model at WOWO Radio and I will help you create one that you can use for all of your marketing and advertising.  The Marketing Strategy Model is actually a system organized by the firm our company uses for sales consulting.  It is a written plan that takes most of what I have been doing for years to create success for my advertising partners and helping them make wise choices and lots of money.
  • Not spending enough.  This is either a commitment issue or a lack of money issue.  Actually, in most cases, it’s not really a money issue, that’s just an excuse.  My recommendations for radio advertising are always designed to create a win for you, not just me.  When someone only gives me a fraction of the funds that it will take to get something done, it’s like asking an airline pilot to fly from coast to coast with only half the fuel needed.  He may get lucky and catch some good air currents, but do you really want to fly with him and risk crashing?
  • Not being focused.  So you have some kind of hap-hazard game plan and a stack of cash and now you start spending some of here, some of it there and more somewhere else.  You are shot-gunning hoping to hit someone who might be interested and then you disappear and try something else.

Each of these above are examples of “not playing the game”.  There are some rules based on human relationship principles that apply to your advertising and marketing that if you decide to ignore, you can’t win.

Want to avoid blowing it all?

Let’s talk.

Sure we will talk about radio advertising with WOWO radio, and maybe include disscusion about using our interactive (web based) options too but we’ll really talk about you, your marketing, and your success.

Are you willing to jump in and “play the game” as Todd says?
